About T.H.E. FARM
T.H.E. FARM was incorporated as a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization on September 4, 1998. Although situated on the site of Tewksbury Hospital, T.H.E. FARM is neither part of the hospital nor a state agency and receives no federal or state funding. It was built largely with donations from individuals, businesses, and private charitable foundations.

Our Mission
T.H.E. FARM’s mission is to provide a public, self sustaining, agricultural based equine program which complements the needs of the Tewksbury Hospital community and fosters a regional environment for education, research, and the integration of members of the disabled and the able bodied communities.

Our Instructors
Jessica Clemons
Jess has loved and ridden horses since she was a young girl. She had her start in the Western discipline and was introduced to the Balance Seat style of riding by T.H.E. FARM. She began at T.H.E. FARM as an apprentice in 2006 and received both her MA instructor’s and NARHA license in 2007. Jess continues to be involved in education and is currently working towards a Masters degree in Special Education. She loves working with people of all ages and all abilities.
Kevin Goggins
Kevin joined T.H.E. FARM in 2001 as a volunteer and student and has since filled a variety of roles including instructor, assistant barn manager, and barn manager. Currently an able-bodied instructor, Kevin adapts all of his lessons to fit individual rider’ needs for optimal rider development. It is Kevin’s desire to continue his training and his instruction at T.H.E. FARM and pass on his training to both new and existing students aspiring towards riding precision and excellence.
Andrea McElaney
For over eighteen years Andrea has been riding and working with horses. She loves teaching beginner riders of all ages and sharing the love of horses. She began volunteering at T.H.E. FARM in 2007 as a side walker and began teaching in 2009 working with individuals in the able-bodied program 2 days a week.
Diane Reed
Diane served on the board for 3 years and still volunteers to do the financials for the organization. She has been teaching able-bodied lessons at T.H.E. FARM since 2005. Diane has owned her own horses since 1984 and has been active in US Pony Club for over twenty-five years. She was the RS for Central New England Region for two years.
Susan Ross
Susan started riding in high school in Connecticut and was elected captain of the mounted drill team in her sophomore year. Sue started volunteering helping out with therapeutic lessons and Special Olympics. Susan eventually decided to do an internship and get her NARHA certification and MA instructor’s license. She joined T.H.E. FARM in the fall of 2010. She also teaches in the adaptive ski program at New England Disabled Sports.
Cordula Robinson
Cordula started riding when she was 12, mostly on trails in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside in the UK. About 6 years ago she started volunteering at T.H.E. FARM as a side walker and leader. In December 2006, Cordula earned her NARHA instructor’s license, followed by her MA state license in January 2007. She currently teaches at T.H.E. FARM one day a week.
Jessica Wadden
Jessica is a registered NARHA and MA licensed riding instructor with a Masters degree in Education. She has been teaching therapeutic and recreational riding lessons at T.H.E FARM since 2005. Jessica currently works full time as a Special Education teacher in the Boston area. T.H.E FARM is the perfect setting to combine her love of horses and special education. Jess continues to develop her own riding skills by taking dressage lessons.
Susan Winslow
Sue is a lifelong horsewoman, competitor in Hunter/Jumper and low level Eventing, former United States Pony Club Member and member of the Colby Sawyer Equestrian Team. She is the past owner of Sugar Brook Farm in Maine and currently owns and resides at East Meadow Farm with her husband, Scott, their three children and assortment of horses, dogs, cats, birds and donkeys. She is a licensed MA licensed and certified NARHA instructor.
